Oklahoma City is where Flooring GT is based, and it is where we do the widest range of work. Each one asks a different question of a flooring crew, and the answer is never the same product.

In the older neighborhoods, the subfloor is usually the real project. Pier-and-beam homes settle, joists deflect, and by the time a floor is eighty years old it rarely reads flat to a straightedge. We sister joists where needed, flatten with self-leveling compound, and choose materials that tolerate a little movement. In the newer slab builds the challenge flips — the slab is flat but it holds moisture, so we test it before anything goes down and specify the barrier or adhesive the reading actually calls for.

The other constant here is our climate. Oklahoma City runs humid through spring and dry through winter, and that swing is exactly what makes wood floors cup and laminate seams open up. It is why we acclimate hardwood on site, why we hold real expansion gaps at every wall, and why we recommend engineered wood or rigid-core LVP for the rooms most exposed to that cycle.
