Open floor plans are technically demanding for flooring. A continuous run across a large span needs the subfloor flat across the whole field, not just room by room, and floating floors need expansion strategy planned for the full dimension rather than the individual room. We straightedge across the entire run before quoting the prep.

Large-format porcelain and engineered wide-plank hardwood are the two most requested materials here, and both amplify substrate problems. Getting the floor flat first is the majority of the labor on these jobs — the setting goes quickly once the prep is right.

For primary bathrooms, we build the full package: curbless or low-threshold walk-in showers, sloped and waterproofed pans, recessed niches, benches, and tile carried floor to ceiling.
