We install solid nail-down hardwood over plywood, engineered wood over slab and plywood, and floating engineered where the situation calls for it. Engineered is usually the better choice over concrete and in homes with wide seasonal swings, since its cross-layered core moves far less than solid wood. We will tell you which one fits your subfloor and your budget instead of steering you toward the higher ticket by default.
